ECU to host Capture the Flag cybersecurity competition
East Carolina University’s Cyber Competition Club, in partnership with the North Carolina National Guard Cyber Security Response Force, has scheduled a Capture the Flag cybersecurity competition beginning at 1 p.m. Jan. 16 in the Main Campus Student Center.
The event allows students to test their skills in cybersecurity, compete for prizes and engage with leaders in cybersecurity operations, intelligence and academic research.
All levels of students are welcome, from beginners to experts. The event offers team collaboration and challenging scenarios, with students building their own networks. A Red Hat information session, technical demonstration from the N.C. National Guard Cybersecurity Response Force and briefings from the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI are also scheduled.
Food and refreshments will be provided. A Wi-Fi enabled laptop is required.
Registration is required and space is limited.
ECU’s Cyber Competition Club is a student organization in the Department of Technology Systems, which is part of the College of Engineering and Technology.
