The Source Ribbon Cutting

At CIEI we have been working with the City of Wilson, Greenlight and RIoT for a couple of years now, with the second ECU student capstone project wrapping up in early May.  For us, The Source already feels like home however, the recent ribbon cutting gave us a moment to reflect on this amazing partnership. Everything that was achieved at this facility and everything that is planned could not have happened outside a city, city of Wilson and organization, Greenlight, with innovation built in their DNA and without the masterful guidance provided by RIoT who knows how to cultivate and accelerate great ideas. We are grateful to work side by side with folks like Emily Wells and Tyndal Linwood in Wilson and with Greg Dunko on Charlie Bourne on the RIoT side. They all enabled our students to learn beyond technology and to be creative. With every solution we improve because they invest in everyone’s success at The Source. We will continue to expand and improve PITON to support all needs of farming innovators, inside greenhouses and out in the rich fields of North Carolina. It was great to have Sean O’Dowd, one of the capstone project leads join the event, share his perspective on the experience, and see the impact his team’s work can have in the real world.
