Courses
The Center for Sustainable Energy and Environmental Engineering offers one-day technical training courses, developed with grants awarded from EPA, each lasting seven hours. These courses are designed for engineers, managers, and employees across various industries in North Carolina, with a focus on industrial pollution prevention practices. Each session accommodates up to 25 participants.
The training covers critical topics such as energy efficiency and management, the reduction and substitution of chemical usage, waste reduction (with an emphasis on lean practices), and environmental management.
A registration fee is typically charged, which helps cover essential costs such as food and parking and encourages participant commitment. This fee is waived when a company agrees to host the event. For example, if ‘Company X’ requests a course for approximately 20 employees, the center will cover the costs for the instructor and training materials.
Here is a list of courses typically offered by the center, focused on industrial pollution prevention and sustainability practices:
- Waste minimization in manufacturing via lean practices.
- Enhancing Energy Efficiency and Reducing GHG Emissions in Steam Systems.
