Applications for the BME-SIM REU Site are now open!

After canceling the REU program last year due to COVID, we are excited to announce that applications are now open for summer 2021!

You are eligible to apply if you are a US citizen or permanent resident, are majoring in engineering, basic sciences, math, computer science or related disciplines, and have completed at minimum one year of undergraduate study (ideally two years) with at least one more semester to go after the program.

To apply to the program, please submit the following:

  1. Online application form
  2. Submit unofficial transcripts to bmesim@ecu.edu with file name “LastName_Transcripts”
  3. Submit personal statement to bmesim@ecu.edu with file name “LastName_PersonalStatement”
  4. Have two references submit letters on official letterhead to bmesim@ecu.edu with the student name in the email subject line and in the filename

We will start reviewing applications on February 15, 2021.  For full consideration, please submit all of your materials by this date.
