Qualifications
US Citizen or Permanent Resident
Currently enrolled in undergraduate program and plan to return to an undergraduate program in the fall
Pursuing a degree in a STEM related field
Students from groups traditionally underrepresented in STEM and from academic institutions with limited research opportunities, including community colleges, are especially encouraged to apply
Required Application Materials
We will not be hosting a program in summer 2024.
Online application form
One-page personal statement which includes your interest in the BMESIM program and specific projects, and your career and research goals. Submit by email to BMESIM@ecu.edu with required file name of “LastName Personal Statement.pdf”.
Unofficial Transcripts
Submit by email to BMESIM@ecu.edu with required file name of “LastName Transcript.pdf”.
Two recommendation letters: The letters should come from faculty who can speak about your academic achievements and interest in research. Letters should be submitted on official letterhead by the faculty member to BMESIM@ecu.edu. Include the student name in the email subject line and in the filename.
