2024 ECU GenCyber Teacher Summer Camp

Department of Defense Cyber Exchange2024 ECU GenCyber Teacher Summer Camp

East Carolina University is proud to offer a 5-day GenCyber camp during the summer of 2024. Eighteen grades 9-12 public high school teachers in North Carolina will be recruited to participate in the camp. Our goal is to equip the participants with cybersecurity knowledge and skills so they can deliver the content to their students. The camp will focus on cybersecurity threats and attacks. Camp participants will be provided with resources to help them design appropriate cybersecurity curricula and integrate in their own classrooms.

The program will feature both theoretical discussions and hands-on activities covering cybersecurity concepts. To ensure that all participants have opportunities to reflect on their learning, participants will be divided into six groups and each group will develop a lesson plan in addition to the camp assessment. Open sources will be adopted, allowing participants to easily replicate their own teaching environment in the future.
