Graduation

The College of Engineering and Technology will honor its graduates in a recognition ceremony in Minges Coliseum starting promptly at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 4th.  Graduating students attending the ceremony will be called forward individually to the stage to be congratulated by our own faculty and staff.  Please note that this is a different ceremony than the University Graduation Ceremony held in the Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.  We do this extra event to honor each of our graduates in Computer Science, Construction Management, Engineering, and Technology Systems.  A professional photographer will be on hand for pictures, which you will have the option to purchase.

No tickets are needed, but we need to know if you are planning to attend this event.  Please indicate if you will be attending or not attending by completing the CET Ceremony reservation web-form through the link below by Friday, April 19th.

You must submit the online reservation form to be on our email distribution list to receive details including check-in information, parking, ceremony instructions, as well as other information of which will be sent to your ECU email account a few weeks prior to graduation.

Students participating in this program should plan to check-in at Minges Coliseum (details to follow with a map of the building/locations) lobby between 12:00-12:30 p.m. You must be in place by 12:45 p.m.  All graduates must wear cap and gown for this ceremony.  Doctoral and Master’s graduates must have their hood as well and bring it with them to the check-in at Minges Coliseum.

Cap and gown are part of your tuition and may be picked up at the bookstore at no charge but you do have to complete the Commencement Apparel Form. Shipping is provided at a nominal fee. Additional questions concerning cap and gowns should be directed to the ECU student bookstore at 1-877-499-8398.

Individuals requesting accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) should contact the Department for Disability Support Services at least 48 hours prior to the event at (252) 737-1016 (Voice/TTY). Marshals will be stationed outside Wright Auditorium to assist/direct anyone in need to the elevators.

***Tassel and Hood Information:  All undergraduate students will wear a purple gown with a purple and gold tassel; all master students will wear a black gown with a purple and gold hood and gold tassel with the exception of the MS in Biomedical Engineering which will have an orange tassel and orange hood.

The faculty and staff of the college are looking forward to seeing you and your family on May 4th.

Sincerely,
The CET Recognition Ceremony Team
