Student Wins $4,000 NASA Grant
CET student Noah Sonne, a junior in the College’s engineering program, was awarded a $4,000, NASA-funded North Carolina Space Grant Undergraduate Research Scholarship for the 2017-18 academic year. Sonne’s research seeks to understand how vibration energy moves in complex coupled systems. He will evaluate whether such systems could be used for harvesting and storing energy that is produced from vibrations that occur during a spacecraft’s flight. Sonne is studying mechanical engineering and his advisor is Dr. Teresa Ryan, a professor in the college’s Department of Engineering.
