Red Hat Academy Recognizes Toderick

Red Hat Academy recently presented Lee W. Toderick, a technology systems instructor with the College of Engineering and Technology, with the Red Hat Academy Instructor of the Year Award. To receive this recognition, Toderick had to meet quite a number of criteria that exemplified both his knowledge and advocacy for Red Hat, the Academy and Linux. He was presented the award by Trisha Turlington,  Red Hat Academy, North American Business Manager, at the Red Hat Partner and Instructor Convention in Las Vegas, NV, Sept 6-7, 2017.

About the award, Toderick said, “I am honored to be selected as the Instructor of the Year for the Red Hat Academy, 2017 because it highlights our students and the work they do to become IT Professionals.”

“Some of our students graduate with Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) and Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) professional certifications, and are employed as Linux Systems Engineers upon graduation,” he added. “Our College benefits from this Red Hat award because it demonstrates our reputation as a leader in Linux Systems Engineering and Open Source Technologies.”

About Toderick receiving the award, Turlington said, “(Lee is) always willing to go above and beyond to help other instructors. I have pointed probably more than 20-30 schools in his direction for either help on lab administration, how to set up the curriculum, additional resources, etc.”

Toderick annually teaches 150-200 students on RHCE and RHCSA curriculum.
