3/14 marks Tau Beta Pi’s second annual Pi Day!

For each dollar donated, students, faculty and staff can enter a professor of their choosing to get pied as well as a chance to be the pie-er!

Cookies and pies will be sold at the event as well; cookies are $1 and a slice of pie is $2.50 or two for $5.

The Pi Day event will be held Thursday, March 14 at the Mendenhall brickyard from 10 a.m. to 3:14 p.m., when the top three vote-winning professors will be ceremonially pied. Come out to support Tau Beta Pi, catch some sweet desserts, or just to see a professor get pied!

Last year’s event raised almost $150 toward the purchase of a bent, a traditional bronze symbol that represents past, current and future engineering successes and excellence. Dr. Colleen Janeiro was voted most popular and was pied in the face along with second- and third-place finishers Dr. Chris Venters and Dr. Teresa Ryan.

Professors eligible for Pi Day voting include:

  • Mr. Jeff Foeller
  • Dr. Zhen Zhu
  • Dr. Teresa Ryan
  • Dr. Colleen Janeiro
  • Dr. Ricky Castles
  • Ms. Blair Weaver
  • Dr. Todd Fraley
  • Dr. Chris Venters
