Hanna Johns, a student in the Industrial Distribution and Logistics (IDIS) degree program and a veteran of the United States Air Force and the United States Army, has been awarded $5,000 for the Material Handling Institute’s highly competitive and prestigious Howard Bernstein Scholarship.  The scholarship is for students studying for careers within material handling, industrial distribution, engineering, logistics and supply chain industries.

Since 2012, the Material Handling Education Foundation, Inc. has awarded scholarships to students attending programs similar to IDIS at universities such as N.C. State, Michigan State, Clarkson, Purdue, University of Nebraska at Kearney, and Texas A&M. “I was very excited when I was notified I was awarded the Howard Bernstein Scholarship,” Johns said. “I’m very thankful for the Material Handling Education Foundation and my ECU professors for seeing the potential I have for a career in our industry.”
