Career development center offers events for spring semester

It’s never too early to start thinking about what comes after graduation. With that in mind, the Career Development and Leadership Center (CDLC) at the College of Engineering and Technology is offering a variety of events to help students this spring semester.
Beyond career fairs and resume workshops, one of the more unique CDLC events is the Business Etiquette Dinner at 6 p.m. March 19 in the Croatan Green Room.
“The goal is to teach students how to properly use etiquette in a dinner setting,” said Ariel Goodman, head of CDLC in the college. “Companies and businesses will sometimes take job candidates out to dinner or lunch for an interview, and we just want to teach proper dinner etiquette. We’ll go over things with them like their power greeting, and how to practice that. Faculty and professional people will be at each table to help them.”
The first event on the calendar involves a bus trip to the N.C. State Engineering Career Fair on Feb. 5. The bus is scheduled to leave Minges Coliseum at 8:30 a.m. and return at 5:15 p.m. Those planning to attend must register for the bus trip in advance at https://ecu.joinhandshake.com/events/432630/share_preview. Those planning to attend should bring copies of their resumes.
The CDLC is located in room 239 of the Science and Technology Building. Regular hours are weekdays 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Information is also available by visiting https://cet.ecu.edu/students/career-development-center/.
