Breaking Tradition
In the East Carolina University College of Engineering and Technology, 44% of students are considered nontraditional in that they didn’t come to ECU right after high school graduation. Some may have opted for military service, while others entered the workforce and now seek a degree to enhance their careers. Some may be looking to change careers.
Four nontraditional students in the College of Engineering and Technology share the stories of their paths toward an ECU degree, why they believe getting a degree at an older age is important and how their experiences can help others who are thinking of following in their footsteps.
