Dr. Jungwoo Lee
Teaching Interests
Dr. Lee is interested in teaching various water-related environmental engineering research topics. The major topics that are discussed in his courses include: computational fluid mechanics; numerical methods; hydrodynamics and water quality modeling; and high-performance programming languages. Throughout his courses, Dr. Lee emphasizes practicality and creativity to answer various engineering questions..
Research Interests
Dr. Lee has more than 15 years of professional experience in civil, environmental and coastal processes and numerical modeling. Dr. Lee completed various water-related projects, including water quality management and modeling, coastal inundation by hurricanes, real-time ocean current prediction, a new two-dimensional dam-break model, and a three-dimensional numerical model development project. Especially, Dr. Lee developed a state-of-art, three-dimensional ocean circulation model, the General Ocean Model or GOM.
