Curriculum

The Department of Engineering is dedicated to encouraging our students with effective advising and support, including tutoring and resolution of issues which impact student success. We care about every student and work to develop a positive and motivational environment. Engineering students meet with their academic advisor each semester to ensure the student’s timely progression toward graduation as well as offer advice in engineering options, electives, and other related academic issues.

At ECU Engineering, this process begins in freshman year classes that examine the engineering profession and ethics. Students also meet the engineering faculty in their first year and learn about their research and career interests. When students declare a concentration, the faculty within that concentration take the lead in developing career awareness and career advising.
